:- 3.0 out of 5 stars from Robert G -- An enjoyable addition to this series, with one moderate flaw : I've read all the books in this series up to this one. It was quite enjoyable. The only issue that detracted from the story was the overwhelming incompetence of Detective Toots. I can't imagine how he could ever had qualified for criminal investigation. In a good story the characters must be believable. Everything was fine until Detective Toots started questioning witnesses. Before even compiling the facts he was making wild accusations. I almost ditched the book at that point, but kept on to the end. Other than this issue, the story is worth reading. Certainly the series itself should be read in order of appearance, so I wouldn't skip this one. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2021 )
